I've seen them described with other names, but to me, these look like starfish. Biscorn is one of the other names, I believe.
My first one was made at the local sewing bee in Stuttgart. That's the tiny one. Very scrappy, which pleases me.
I also wanted one that was bigger and seriouser, :) so I made one from Kaffe Fassett fabrics, primarily Roman Coins. LOVE it!!!
Now DD wants one in a pillow size for her new apartment. Three fabrics: black, pink/black, and pink. I figure if I make it with 8 inch squares, it will come out about 14 inches across, just the right size.
