I've got a notion to make a red quilt, wall hanging size, for my sister-in-law who lives in Bavaria.
Size will be about 20 cm by 60 cm, or thereabouts.
A dear dear friend let me cut small strips from her stunning stash of batiks, to supplement my relatively small selection of reds, oranges and browns.
Here's how the selection went.
First I pulled out pieces I thought would go together, and tossed them into a neat pile.
Then I looked at them in black and white to see if any needed to be removed for contrast reasons. This quilt will be rather on the darker side.
Then I started pulling out pieces that didn't seem to fit, sort of a fine tuning. with plenty of good advice from my sewing bee buddies.
Here's the final stack. I still have to cut my strips and return the rest to my friend, then add my own fabrics.

Your dear friend is very proud that her beautiful batiks will be part of your project - I cannot wait to see the result
Nice colors! Don't you luv looking at fabric in black/white? It so changes what you think they look like. Can't wait until it is done.
A wonderful selection of red fabrics. I like the way you piled it on, and than took the picture .
And please, introduce me to your dear friend. I would love to meet her.
